Steven L. Corbin, 61, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away from cancer on April 5, 2014 at his home. Mr. Corbin was a local club owner for over 30 years, operating MY PLACE, WISE GUYS, and TOWN ROYAL CLUB. Earlier he was employed at Modine Manufacturing Company.
Steven L. Corbin, the son of LeRoy and Naoma Cox Corbin, was born at Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia on September 17, 1952. A graduate of Emporia High School, he entered the U.S. Navy in 1970. He was a Viet Nam Veteran and member of V.F.W. Post 1980 and Ball McColm Post #5 of the American Legion.
Linda Ashlock Corbin, his wife of 29 years, survives of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Naoma Walker of Emporia; and sisters, Cheri Wellborn of White City, and Connie Seaton of Emporia; stepdaughter, Jill Tenpenny (Travis) of Topeka, Kansas; stepson, Tony Noller of Emporia; a grandson, Riley Dean Tenpenny; and granddaughter, Corbi Marie Tenpenny of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Corbin, and stepfather, Clifford Walker.
Cremation has taken place and no service is planned. A remembrance (in and out party) will be held at the Town Royal Club at 405 Commercial in Emporia, on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. to celebrate his life.
No flowers are requested. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee of Emporia in his honor.
