Steve Miltz of Americus, Kansas, passed away at his home on November 27, 2015.
Steve was born November 26, 1947 in Emporia, Kansas, to Vern and Irene Miltz. Steve Graduated from Emporia High School in 1965, where he earned All-America honors in football and a full scholarship to the University of Arkansas.
Steve joined the Emporia Police Department, so he could help people, and finished his career helping people in the insurance business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and his favorite place was Lake Kahola.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Overland Park, Kansas; brother, Keith of Wamego, Kansas; two sons, Eric and his wife Sherry of Lecompton, Kansas, and Matthew and his wife Michelle of Highland Village, Texas; four grandchildren, Luke and Emma of Lecompton, and Marissa and Maci of Highland Village; and his loyal canine companion, Sheba.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia, on December 30, 2015 at 10:00 A.M.
