Sue Irene Barrett, 78, of Emporia, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Sue Irene was born October 11, 1936 in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, the daughter of Ethel and Nimie Robertson. She worked in the laundry department at Emporia Rehab until her retirement.
Sue married Jake Barrett in 1952 in Mexico. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: sons, David Barrett of Emporia, Mike Barrett of Madison, Kansas, Kevin Barrett of Emporia and Marvin Barrett of Emporia; brother, Rory Robertson of Raleigh, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 27, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia. Dr. Leonard Wagner of the Church of God of Prophecy in Emporia will be officiating.
