Sue S. Mackiewicz, 94 of Olathe, Kansas died on January 19, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Olathe, Kansas.
Sue was born on October 31, 1916 in Neodesha, Kansas the daughter of J.M. and Emma E. Lerch Smith. She married Charles Casimir Mackiewicz on August 18, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas. He died on February 9, 1995 in Emporia, Kansas.
Survivors include: sons, James Mackiewicz of Marietta, Georgia, and Paul Mackiewicz of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Crystal Jones of Kennesaw, Georgia, Charlie Mackiewicz of Dallas, Georgia, Megan E. Mackiewicz of Olathe, Kansas, and Lindsey N. S. Mackiewicz of Olathe, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Kylie Jones and Griffin Jones of Kennesaw, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her husband and two brothers Lerch Smith and Joseph Smith.
Mrs. Mackiewicz was a homemaker, as well as a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, Kansas, with the rosary taking place at 10:30 A.M. that morning at the church. The services will be conducted by Father Rich Warsnak of the church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Emporia.
