Susan Jane Chamberlain

Susan Jane Chamberlain, 82 of Emporia, Kansas died June 22, 2018 at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor.

Susan was born December 21, 1935 at the family home near the Kansas – Nebraska border, the 5 ^th of 6 daughters born to Anthony and Geneva (Palmer) Dannecker. She was a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell for 35 years, retiring in 1981. Susan was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and reading.

Susan married James Jordan in January of 1956. They later divorced. She then married Leonard Chamberlain in Topeka, Kansas on October 23, 1981. He died May 3, 2013. Susan is survived by a son J. Greg Jordan (Lisa Soller) of Emporia, daughters Gwen Kitson (Dean) of Williamsburg, Virginia, Jamie Jasnoski (Nathan Goodell) of Lebo, Kansas, 2 step-daughters, sister Lena Lee Johnson of Falls City, Nebraska, 9 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 4 sisters.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Lyon County History Center in Emporia. Inurnment will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Rulo, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lyon County History Center or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
