Susan Ann Riley of Olathe, Kansas passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at her home
surrounded by her family. She was 71. Susan was born on January 8, 1955, in Eureka, KS. She was the daughter of Milo, Sr., and Alta Jean Pattison Riley. She married Jerry Gonzales and later divorced. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Snyder and Mariah Snyder-Pendlay (Son in law Rex Pendlay) both of Overland Park; grandchildren, Quinten and Ellis Pendlay; brother, Milo Riley II of Shell Knob, MO and Roger Riley of Lebo, KS. Four nephews (Mike Riley, Matt Riley, Aaron Riley, Shane Riley) and one niece (Heather Wagner (Riley). She also took pride in caring for a bonus Son (Dennis Burris deceased) and bonus Daughter Cheryl Burris since 2004. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Susan was a graduate of Emporia State University and a pillar to the Emporia community serving as Executive Director of the Emporia Senior Center. She was a Systems Analyst at Yellow World Wide and finished her career as a Nursing Home Administrator. She loved the water, cruising, crafting, quilting, genealogy and baking. She was also a Master Scuba Diver. She devoted much of her time and energy to giving and doing for others.
Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life at a later date. Your presence and support are what matter most to us.
