Terry J. Weller, (77), of Warrensburg, Missouri died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, with Pastor Nancy Brown of the Americus United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery near Neosho Rapids. Memorial Donations to the Wounded Warriors Foundation may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.

Terry James Weller, the son of Samuel Christopher and Mary Vanita Cunningham Weller was born June 20, 1939 in Americus. He was a 24 year veteran of the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sargent. After leaving the Air Force, he became a prison warden for the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 20 years. He also received a Bachelor’s degree from Park University in Arkansas.

Terry married Mary A. Mounkes in 1958 in the Methodist Church in Americus. She survives of Warrensburg, MO. Other surviving members of the family include, a son, Terry J. Weller, Jr. of West Boylston, MA; two daughters, Tamra Edwards of Warrensburg, MO and Angela D. Waters of Collierville, TN; a brother Leslie Samuel Weller of Herrington, KS; a sister, Jean Ferguson of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Brenton Edwards, Ashton Waters-Elwood, Autumn Edwards and Houston Edwards and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Charlotte Mann, Elizabeth Hansen, and Lela Lewis; and a granddaughter, Savanah Marie Waters. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Terry James Weller, please visit our flower store.
