Thelma G. Johnson, 80, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2011 at Newton Medical Center in Newton, Kansas.
Thelma Gladys Blanck, the daughter of Joseph Daniel and Mildred Elizabeth Weaver Blanck, was born January 22, 1931 in Lamont, Kansas. She married Edward Joseph Kvas on August 8, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death. She later married Donald W. Johnson in 1972 in Wichita, Kansas. He also preceded her in death.
Surviving members of the family include: a son, Joe Kvas of Admire, Kansas; two daughters, Patricia Page of Omaha, Nebraska and Jennifer Kvas of Emporia; a brother, Joseph Richard Blanck of Emporia; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Thelma had worked for Beechcraft Corporation and Kansas Society for Crippled Children, both in Wichita. She was a member of Victory Fellowship Church in Emporia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Lamont Wesleyan Church in Lamont, Kansas. Burial will be in Lena Valley Cemetery east of Lamont. The Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2011 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
