Thomas S. Glass, 55, of Allen, Kansas went to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
Tom was born on February 26, 1961 in Clinton, Missouri the son of Billy and Mary Lou Rollo Glass. He married his childhood sweetheart Lisa Mellen on April 17, 1981 in Clinton, Missouri. She survives.
Survivors include: wife, Lisa Glass of Allen; sons, Matt Glass and wife Julie of Emporia, and Michael Glass and wife Candace of Merriam; Grandchildren, Adah Glass, John Glass, and Bates Glass; brother, Rodney Glass of Colorado; half-brother, Nelson Glass; sister, Lois Bohrn and husband Gene of Olathe and niece Gina; half-sister Rita Heieck.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and half-brother James Glass.
Tom graduated from Clinton High School in 1979. After moving to Emporia Tom worked at Wolf Creek. After that he continued construction work and became a licensed contractor in the Emporia area where he started his own business Tom Glass Construction. Tom was saved in his twenties, calling this one of the best moments of his life. He was ordained as a deacon of the Cedar Cross Missionary Baptist Church in Emporia where he was also a member. Some of the things Tom enjoyed were serving the Lord, spending time with family, playing with his grandchildren, and hunting.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Burial will follow at the Fruitland Cemetery west of Americus.
