Timothy D. Esterly, 67, of Emporia, Kansas, died at his home on May 15, 2012.

Tim was born on October 15, 1944, the son of Earl and Ethel Shively Esterly. He married Mary Jane Halpin in 1963 at Allentown, Pennsylvania; they later divorced.

He is survived by: common law wife, Freda Goza of the home; sons, Timothy D. Esterly Jr. of Avenel, New Jersey, and Vincent Esterly of Hopatcong, New Jeresy; sisters, Ethel Hurdle of Conway, South Carolina, Hanna Woodard of White Hall, Pennsylvania, Sandra Diefenderfer of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Delores Santoro of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Lee of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania; brothers, Robert Esterly of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Kenneth Esterly of White Hall, Pennsylvania, and Eugene Esterly of Allentown, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Keith Esterly of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Sara and Tyler Esterly of Hopatcong, New Jersey, and Maria Salazar, Jasmine Goza, Jose Escalante, and Natalia Goza all of Emporia.

He is preceded in death by his parents; twin infant daughters; sisters, Carrie Schuster, Betty Ziegler, Katherine Gilbert, Roberta Christaman, Bernice Esterly, and Jackie Esterly; brothers, David Esterly, Earl Esterly, Lamar Esterly, Paul Esterly, Gary Esterly, and Harvey Esterly.

From 1969 to 1991, Tim worked in the wool plant for Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He later was a mechanic and a truck driver. Tim served in the United States Army in Anchorage, Alaska, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Emporia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 18, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church in Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Mark Eichler of the church.
