Timothy Edwin Sparks

Timothy Edwin Sparks passed away at the age of 54 on January 9, 2024, at his home in Emporia, Kansas.

Tim was born on November 25, 1969, the son of Gary and Ann (Dossett) Sparks in Russellville, Arkansas. Tim graduated from Yates Center High School in 1988. After graduation, he went on to study mechanical design at Kansas College of Technology Salina.

On June 13, 1992, he married Shelley Schinstock in Yates Center, Kansas.

In 1990, he moved to Emporia, Kansas, to work at Didde Web Press.  In 2006, Tim began an eighteen year career at Sauder Custom Fabrication, Inc. until his health would no longer allow. Tim’s greatest sense of pride was traveling to watch his daughter’s activities during high school and college. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and various other outdoor activities. Tim was a member of Flint Hills Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Survivors include his wife Shelley, of the home, daughter Whitney Hanson and her husband Simon of Emporia, Kansas, mother Ann Sparks of Lamar, Arkansas, brother Shane Sparks of Lamar, Arkansas, nephew Levi Sparks of Tennessee, mother-in-law Brenda Schinstock of Yates Center, Kansas, brother-in-law Corey (Laura) Schinstock of Iola, Kansas, nieces Kailey & Kinsey Schinstock of Iola, Kansas and numerous aunts, uncles, and close family friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Sparks, and father-in-law, John Schinstock.

Cremation is planned. The family will meet with friends from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., January 20th, 2024, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. A private graveside interment will be held at a later date at the Yates Center Cemetery.
