Tres Lu Peterson, 56, of Emporia, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home.
Tres was born January 6, 1957 in Denison, Iowa, the son of Robert & Marjorie (Marten) Peterson. Tres, was a longtime truck driver for Builders Choice in Emporia. He served in the US Army Reserve and was a member of the 129 Transportation Company out of Osage City, Kansas, and served in Desert Storm. Tres had attended Flint Hills Christian Church in Emporia, and enjoyed antiquing.
Tres married Mary Nichols at Flint Hills Christian Church in Emporia on September 2, 2000. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: his father, Robert L. Peterson of Emporia; brother: Ty L. Peterson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and sisters, Tresa R. Peterson-Johnson of Emporia, and Tami K. Peterson-Webb of Emporia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie (Marten) Reed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Pastor Tony Lantz of Life church in Emporia will be officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Military Honors will be presented by US Army Honor Detail, Fort Riley, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
