Victor Ray Winter, 70, of Allen, Kansas, died Monday, January 26, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

Victor was born October 6, 1944 in Marion, Kansas, the son of Ruben and Ella (Ebel) Winter. He worked as a meat cutter for several years at Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia, Kansas, and then the Allen Locker in Allen. Victor retired in 2002 from McDonalds, where he was working maintenance.

When Victor was younger, he taught Sunday school, coached softball, and was a volunteer fireman, all in Allen. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Victor married Roberta Sue Hansen and they later divorced. He is survived by a son, Robert Winter of Topeka, Kansas; daughter, Victoria Heinen and husband Jeremy of Lenexa, Kansas; brother, Earl Winter of Marion; sister, Kathy Silhan of Pilsen, Kansas; and a granddaughter that is on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Mr. Lee Hoskins of Emporia will be officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, February 2, 2015 at Marion Cemetery in Marion, Kansas. Pastor Dan Ferguson of the Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion will be officiating.
The family will receive friends in Marion at Our Savior Lutheran Church from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Monday, February 2, 2015.
