Viola L. Heskett

Viola L. Heskett, 76, Emporia, Kansas, passed away at Newman Regional Health, Emporia, on Friday, June 5, 2026.

Viola L. Austin was born July 11, 1949 at McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of Thomas A. and Jane (Pegrim) Austin. She married Harley Heskett in McCook, Nebraska on July 11, 1968. He survives of the home. Also surviving are daughters; Lynnette (Shawn) Honea, and Cori (James) Thomas, both in Emporia, Kansas, sister; Shirley Ridgly, Aurora, Colorado, grandchildren; Scott and Jack Honea and Caleb Thoas.

She was a member of the Cathedral Church of the King, Olathe, Kansas, and a attended Sunday School there. Through her lifetime, she has worn out at least 4 bibles. She was an organizer and participant in Kansans for Constitutional Integrity.

Mrs. Heskett had received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Emporia State University in Rehabilitation Counseling. For a number of years she provided day care for her three grandsons.

Cremation is planned. Memorial Services will be at the Cathedral Church of the King in Olathe, Kansas on Saturday, June 26, 2026 at 2:00 P.M..
