Violet M. Selby

Violet M. Selby, St. Joseph Missouri, and formerly of Emporia Kansas, passed away at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 85, surrounded by her family.

Violet was born on June 6, 1939, in Springfield Colorado, the daughter of Walter E. and Estella Marie McNair Kuhn.  She married Loren Jay Selby in Council Grove, Kansas on August 1, 1969.

Survivors include her twin sister, Viola Kuhn, Emporia Kansas; daughter; Lori (Gerald) Bomberger, DeKalb Missouri; grandchildren, Shawna Bomberger, and great grandson, Jaxson Woodruff, St. Joseph Missouri, Tiffany LeGrand (Samantha) DeKalb Missouri, Josh Bomberger, DeKalb Missouri, Anthony Selby, Kansas City Missouri, and Kassidy Selby, Kansas City Missouri; and step-granddaughter, Kacey Selby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren and their son, Allen, who died in 2018, and a brother Eldon Kuhn.

Violet was a homemaker.

The family will receive friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the Prairie View Cemetery, southeast of Alta Vista, Kansas.
