Virginia Lee Fay, 85, of rural Emporia, Kansas, died on May 18, 2011 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.

Virginia was born March 24, 1926 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Andrew and Dorothy L. (Arzberger) Kyle. She married Eugene O. Fay on October 23, 1947 in Salina, Kansas. He died on May 27, 1996 in Emporia, Kansas.

Survivors include: daughters, Camilla Myers of Americus, Laurel Janice Michaels of Emporia, Evelyn Pierce of Americus, Dianea Fay of Emporia, Alane Thurston of Miami, Oklahoma; son, Eric Fay of Emporia, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard Kyle of Sacramento, California.

She is preceded in death by her husband; great-granddaughter, Samantha Pierce; and brothers, Thomas Kyle, and Donald Kyle.

Virginia worked on the production line at Dolly Madison for eleven years before retiring in 1981. Along with that, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Emporia, the Board of Trustees at the church, the Lucky 13 Camping Club, 40th Farmer Ettes, Congregational Women Fellowship, Mayflower Circle, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and was a 4-H sewing leader for the Frost 4-H.

Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Andrew McHenry of the First Congregational Church. Inurnment will be in the Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas. The visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday evening, May 20, 2011, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
