Virginia M. Kennedy, Emporia, passed away at the Merriam Gardens, Merriam, Kansas on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the age of 97.
Virginia was born in Emporia on January 13, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Zelma (Workman) Gilbert. She married Kenneth Kennedy in Emporia on December 27, 1949. He died March 6, 1996.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She is preceded n death by her sisters; Verla Iverd Gilbert, who died in infancy, Beulah Metcalfe, Evelyn Hudson, and Juanita Schreiber, and brothers; Paul and Clinton Gilbert.
A graveside service will be held a the Haworth Cemetery, southwest of Emporia, on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 A.M..
The memorial is with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box #175, Emporia, KS 66801.
