Virginia "Ginny" Sue Kiser, age 69, of Emporia, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at home after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born on July 4, 1956, at St. Mary's Hospital in Emporia, Kansas, Ginny was the beloved daughter of Claude and Dorothy (Green) Schultz.
Ginny lived a life full of laughter, love, and loyalty. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Perry Kiser; her children: David Kiser, Johnny Kiser, and Kelly Kiser; her sisters: Trish Markowitz, Kathy Schultz, and Jane Powell; and her sister-in-law, Susie Schultz.
She especially cherished her role as "Grandma." Her grandchildren — Jordan, Alauna, Daxton, Bodhin, Mila, Paislee, and Finn — were truly the light of her life.
Ginny worked at Dolly Madison for 26 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic, quick wit, and the lasting friendships she formed during her time there.
She was known for her fun-loving spirit and passion for life. A die-hard Kansas City Royals fan, she also proudly cheered on the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team every season. She loved the energy of a good pickleball match, the thrill of casino trips, and the simple joy of being surrounded by the people she loved. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit was strong, and her love was unwavering.
In addition to her immediate family, Ginny leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 2 great-great-nieces and nephews — each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Dorothy Schultz; her brothers, Richard and Charles Schultz; and her son, Perry Kiser Jr.
Mass of Christian burial to celebrate Ginny's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia, Kansas, on Tuesday, July 15th at 10:00 a.m. The Rosary will be on Monday, July 14th at 6:30 p.m., with the visitation following from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
