Virginia Lee Kusmaul, 78, Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday morning, August 11, 2011 at Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia.
Virginia Lee Thomas was born in Emporia, Kansas, on September 15, 1932, the daughter of William and Agnes (Stone) Thomas. She married Maynard Carl Kusmaul at the First United Methodist Church, Emporia, on September 20, 1953. He survives.
Other family members include: her daughter, Sharon Seely, Emporia; son, Larry Kusmaul, Allen, Kansas; brothers, William John Thomas, Admire, Kansas and James Thomas, Emporia; sisters, Elizabeth Robinson, Emporia, and Shirley Maxwell, Alma, Kansas; four grandchildren, Austin Seely, Chris Kusmaul, Tracey Hackett, and Anna Kusmaul; and three great-grandchildren, Ashton Kusmaul, Cameron Kusmaul, and Willard Hackett.
A son, Gregory Lynn Kusmaul, died in 2004.
Mrs. Kusmaul was a homemaker, and for a short period worked in the deli at north Reeble’s.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Emporia, where she was also a member of Sew and Chatter.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2011, from 1:00 until 2:00.
