Virginia “Ginger” Lee Haas, 74 of Emporia, Kansas died Monday, December 31, 2018 in Emporia.
Ginger was born October 26, 1944 in her family home in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond L. and Velda (Kane) Hunter. She was a para professional for U.S.D. #253 for 16 years. She retired in 2008. Ginger was a very active member of the Church of Christ in Emporia and the Christian Student Center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling to see her grandchildren.
On December 18, 1964 Ginger married Tony Haas in Pittsburg. He survives. Other survivors include: daughters Timi Sankey and husband Shane of Salina, Kansas, Mandi Swartz and husband Ronnie of Emporia, Lani Keller and husband Steve of Lenexa, Kansas, sisters Sharon Conrad of Pittsburg, Judy Pinamonti of Frontenac, Kansas, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation is planned. The service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Church of Christ in Emporia. Pastor Neil Taylor will officiating. Inurnment will be in the Elm Grove Cadmus Cemetery south of Osawatomie, Kansas at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ or the Tallgrass Christian Camp and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
