Vivian Nielsen, 94, Emporia, Kansas died on December 24, 2010 at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia.
Vivian was born on September 12, 1916 just southeast of Council Grove, Kansas, the daughter of Albert Ed and Minnie Stoltz Bronaugh. She married Christian Nielsen on February 23, 1937 in Council Grove, Kansas. He died in January 22, 1990 in Emporia, Kansas.
Surviving Family members include: sons, J.J. Nielsen of Allen, Kansas and Larry B. Nielsen of Americus, Kansas; grandchildren, Johanna Rumsey of Emporia, Kansas, and Vicki Jones of Americus, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Justin Nielsen of Leon, Oklahoma, Chauncy Smith of Emporia, Kansas, and Lindsey Tacy of Saffordville, Kansas; great-great-grandchildren, Jade and Andrew Tacy of Saffordville, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by a granddaughter Veronica Nielsen, her husband, one brother, and four sisters.
Vivian was a homemaker. She was a member of the Frost Aid community group.
The graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas. The service will be conducted by Pastor Gina Gile of the Americus United Methodist Church of Americus, Kansas. Burial will be in the Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas. Memorial contributions to Hand in Hand Hospice may be sent in care of the funeral home.
