Walter Bowden, 95, of Emporia, Kansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 30, 2013 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Walt was born on October 30, 1917 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, the son of George Novel and Slisty (Mitchell) Bowden. He lived most of his life in north Lyon County, specifically Allen, Kansas, as a farmer and stockman.
On Febuary 10, 1946 Walt married Sarah Belle “Sally” Jones and spent 66 years together with his loving wife. She survives of the home.
Walt and Sally have one son, Bob Bowden who resides with his wife, Kelly, in Andover, Kansas. They have two grandchildren, Marti and husband Brick Huffman and Farrel and wife Brooke Bowden of the Kansas City area. Walt and Sally also have four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Cole Huffman of Olathe, Kansas, and Noah and Blake Walter Bowden of Spring Hill, Kansas.
The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene Activity Center from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
