Wanda Jeanne Douglas, 87, of Americus, Kansas, died on April 25, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

Wanda was born on February 16, 1928 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of John and Harriott Thayer Baker. She married C.E. “Gene” Douglas on May 20, 1945 in Emporia. He died on August 7, 2000 in Topeka.

Survivors include: sons, Darrell Douglas of Emporia, and Brad Douglas of Americus; daughters, Rita Winter of Americus, and Pamela Davis of Emporia; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband; infant son, Robert Douglas; and brothers, Clifford Baker and Calvin Baker.

Wanda worked at Marlow Woodcuts for 12 years before she became an owner in 1985. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Emporia.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church, Emporia, with interment following at Americus Cemetery, Americus.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 29, 2015, from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Memorial contributions to Cornerstone Baptist Church may be sent in care of the funeral home.
