Ward Gasche, 88, of Olpe, Kansas, went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 28, 2013.
Ward was born in Hartford, Kansas, on May 4, 1925 to Grover and Flora (McDonald) Gasche. He graduated from Lamont (Kansas) High School in 1943. He worked in agriculture his entire life.
He married Eileen (Geiger) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia, on September 4, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Gail, Louis, Scott, and Dan; and one sister, Margaret Thomsen.
Surviving family members include his wife, Eileen; five children, Karen and James Lindamood, of Andover, Kansas, Gary and Sydney Gasche, Olpe, Kansas, Brenda and Robert Blackard, Independence, Kansas, Sandra and Mitch Kilcrease, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Keith Gasche and Loretta, Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Mary Line, Kansas City, Kansas; and eleven grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 31, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Rich Warsnak of the church. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Olpe, Kansas.
