Wendy Sandstedt, 55, of Emporia, Kansas and formerly of Arizona, Germany, and California, passed away in Emporia, on August 29, 2024.
Wendy was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 12, 1969. She married Scott Sandstedt on June 12, 1999.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Sandstedt, her children and three grandchildren: Clayton (Rebecca: Lauren, Benjamin and Lucy), Scottie, and Matthew. She is also survived by her parents Richard (Kathy) and Donna (Mandy); siblings: Julie (Justin, Stephen [Kayla; Stephen Jr, Sterling, Shay, Sullivan], Elizabeth [Joey; Anakin], and Cole), Lori (Jermaine; Kaylie [David], Kyrene, and Jordan), Ricky (Amanda; Brenna, Taylor, Andrew, Audrey, and Scott (Marina, Emma [Lilana]; nieces and nephews: Alyssa, Grace [Alani], James, Sarah [Amelya, Lainey and Madilyn], Rebekah [Nick; Leana and Everett], Chloe and Gia; and siblings in law: Colette, Erik (Theresa, Zachary and Zoë) and Dania (Lyra).
She was preceded in death by her twin sisters Kelly and Lynn.
Wendy was a Registered Nurse for 20 years and most recently was employed at Newman Regional Health since moving to Emporia in 2023. Before starting her family, she had served in the Army Reserve. She selflessly donated a kidney 8 years ago.
The family will receive friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Kansas, Friday, September 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A come and go celebration will be held at the family home, 302 South Pine Street, Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Cremation is planned following the Friday visitation.
