Wesley B. Moreland, 77, of Americus, Kansas, died on April 16, 2011 at his home.
Wesley was born in Peru, Kansas, the son of Lander Barber and Blanche Locke Moreland Sr. He married Susan Joy Judkins on April 20, 2001 in Emporia, Kansas. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include: sons, Thomas Moreland of Missouri, and Wesley Moreland, Jr. of Lebo, Kansas; daughters, Becky Whittington of Strong City, Kansas and Katrica Discoll of North Carolina; brother, Lander Barber Moreland, Jr. of Chaney, Kansas; sister, Delia Strasser of Topeka, Kansas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, six brothers, and three sisters.
Mr. Moreland worked for Sauder Tank in Emporia for many years. He later worked for Coffelt Sign Company in Emporia as a painter. After retirement, Wesley painted on his own.
Cremation is planned, with a private memorial service at a later date. The family requests no flowers, with the memorial contributions to the Americus Township Library sent in care of the funeral home.
