William Leo Ballard, 67, of Emporia died on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka.
William was born on May 26, 1950 in Goessel, Kansas the son of Garland Lorriane Ballard and Margaret L. Blevins Cook.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret L. Cook of Humboldt, Sisters, Garrie "Lori” L. Stang, Humboldt and Margaret "Maggie” L. Nichols of Marion. Nieces and nephews, Ginger James, Holly Higgins, Gary Ballard, Scott Ballard, Michael Klassen, Jeffery Klassen and Samuel Graumann. Three great Nephews, and six great nieces.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Garland Ballard, brothers George L. Ballard and Kenneth L. Ballard.
William graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1968 and Emporia State University in December 2008. He was an Accountant at Newman Regional Health, Emporia. William was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lyon County Democrats, and Kansas Genealogy Council of Societies.
Cremation is planned with mass of christian burial at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions to the Sacred Heart Catholic School can be sent in care of the funeral home.
