William Ralph Hanson

William Ralph Hanson of Emporia died on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia.  He was 100.

Bill was born in Madison, Kansas on September 22, 1923, the son of Samuel P. and Clara Berthot Hanson.  He married Lois Nadine Milner on August 30, 1945, in Emporia, Kansas.  She died on March 16, 2015, in Emporia.

Surviving family members include son, William (Margaret) Hanson of Emporia; Karen Yeager of Emporia; grandchildren, Cheryl Hawk, Curtis Cramer and Brian Yeager; 13 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother Henry Hanson and sister Edna Smith.

Bill was a farmer for over 80 years in Greenwood County around Madison and Hamilton.  He served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II.  He was a member of the Vernon H. Buck V.F.W. Post 7957 in Emporia.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton, Kansas.  Memorial contributions to the All Veterans Memorial can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O.
