William R. Kochheim, 78, of Emporia, Kansas died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
William R. Kochheim was born May 10, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Rev. Hans and Martha A. (Rieschick) Kochheim. He moved to Emporia, Kansas in 1985. He was a Field Representative for the Kansas Department of Revenue for 17 years, retiring May 17, 1996. William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Emporia; Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion; former member of the Eagles Club; Evening Kiwanis; and Masonic Knights Templar. He was a graduate of Peru Teachers College.
William married Beverly (Keefover) Chamberlin on May 31, 1989 in Emporia. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: daughters, Martha Mills of McKinney, Texas, and Melissa M. Seward of Kansas City, Missouri; stepdaughters, Amy Kane of Brownsville, Indiana and Lynette Oglesbey of Emporia; sister, Elaine R. Peper of St. Petersburg, Florida; eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Michele R.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the patio garden in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Pastor Lee Hoskins, Emporia, will be officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Emporia, and Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion, Emporia.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.
