William (Bill) Olson, 63, died April 11, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday April 19 at Roberts Blue Funeral Home in Emporia.
Bill was born in Emporia, Kansas March 12, 1954, and was a longtime native of Emporia. He served for the Emporia Fire Department for 14 years as fireman, EMT, fire inspector, and hazardous waste inspector. He saved many lives and was a dedicated fireman. He will be very missed by his family and friends. He loved fishing and camping, especially on family land in the Flint Hills.
He is survived by two daughters, Lindsay Olson and Lauren Fager and her husband, Rich Fager; two sisters Jeanie (Olson) Wilson and Donna (Olson) Schier and her husband, Mike; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Rose Olson and father, Elmer Ray Olson, also longtime citizens of Emporia.
