Wilma Alice Carson

October 19, 1926 — October 3, 2013

A Memorial Service for Wilma Carson is planned for Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. Weather permitting; it will be at graveside in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery just west of Olpe, Kansas. In case of rain, it will be held in the Olpe Methodist Church.

Wilma favored the Olpe First Responders or the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery for memorials.

Wilma Alice Carson entered her eternal home October 3, 2013. She had been a resident patient at Holiday Resort, Emporia. Our loving Heavenly Father took her home peacefully in her sleep.

She was born October 19, 1926 to William and Hannah Alice (Voorhees) McCullough of Olpe. She married Bert Leroy Carson of Hartford, Kansas, on May 26, 1944. They had one daughter, Wilma Jean, born December 24, 1945, who married Jim Meador. They had two children.

Because Bert was in the construction industry, they moved frequently but returned to Olpe for their retirement years.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter; and two sisters, Edith Brown and Bessie Carson. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Renee (Meador) Allen and William Wesley Meador; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William Frank McCullough; an aunt, Emma Voorhees of Emporia; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
